About Me
Hi, I’m Hardevi! I am a mama of girls ages 2 and 4.5 and a former elementary education teacher in both public and independent schools with a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching. Having had a decade of experience in the classroom, I have a deep understanding of designing child-centered learning and play environments. I am passionate about creating clutter-free functional play and art spaces that foster imagination, open-ended creativity, innovation and encourage children to explore with wonder.
As a new mother during the pandemic, I found solace in my weekly routine of rotating my daughter’s toys and in setting up play areas to respond to her growing interests. Then when life changed again and I welcomed my second daughter in 2022, I once again found my anchor in rethinking play space configurations with purpose as my daughters grew together.
My excitement about creating play and art spaces led me to studying the Reggio Emilia philosophy, attending play based conferences including the Free to Play Summit and the Loose Parts and Children’s Art Conference, certification as a Nature Based Teacher, and consulting for friend and family play spaces! I believe all children thrive when their learning and play environment is intentional, nurturing and celebrates their uniqueness and The Tidy Playroom supports families to achieve this goal. Let me know how I can help!

When I am not designing and tinkering with play spaces, I love to curl up with a cup of tea and a good book, container garden, bake, and explore nature with my daughters.
